Hey,
Having one of those days where I got nothing to do but sit at my desk and stare at my computer all day, I decided to try and make a new game. My only problem is that while I have an idea, I'm having trouble making it work for the level i want it to be, so I having stolen just about everything off this site to use in my classes I decided to register here and ask you guys who so wonderfully supply me with activities and ideas for teaching so i don't have to do any real work...
Anyway if any of you heard of the game Apples to Apples, where there are 2 sets of cards, Noun and Adjective cards where an adjective card is drawn and shown to the players and holding noun cards they throw one out and come up with a sentence to match the adjective card. Usually these sentences are awful/funny/whatever. The goal of the game is to collect the most cards, One person judges one round, meaning they don't submit a card for that round, but sit and listen to everyone's sentences and then judges the best, naturally the judge changes with every round (in a circle so everyone is judge). Its a great drinking by the way.
Anyway I thought I might be able to twink this a little bit to try and make it a good review game for jhs students, most likely 3rd years, but possible 2nd years if i dumb down the words. My problem is i think the concept is too hard to convey, so I was fiddling with giving sentence structure cards and then a noun or adjective card, but that would just be fill in the blank with cards, and defeat the purpose of the game which is creativity. Any ideas on what I can do, its an awesome game and i do think it would go over well if i could dumb it down sufficiently but I've run out ideas on how to do that. Thanks
