So...
I busted out the web quest for my 2nd grade class this week and it has since been requested that others be made.
The kids seem to enjoy working on the computers in English class. Some comments included 'The activity was difficult, but very interesting' 'My head hurt after seeing so much English for so long, but it was enjoyable'.
Anyone else had luck with web quests and want to share them with me? I hope to make some in the future (I didn't make the one for the comparatives) and was wondering if anyone had any topics that would be interesting to base some around...
Bring on the technology which we have been using for years back home, but Japan is yet to catch up to.
'What is this wierd thing you call tecnology in learning...?'

I've tried to get in touch many times with the person who created the webquest activity on Englipedia but with no avail. There are some dead links on the webquest activity that I wanted to correct.
I've wanted to do a lot more with that webquest website. I think it's a great site and can be used for many different grammar points.

www.zunal.com/A free web hoster and maker for Webquests I can go in, copy her webquest and then create a new one based on it with fixed links. The problem with links is that do always change though. For the landmark tower link, students type in 'Landmark tower' or 'LANDMARK TOWER' into the search engine on the broken link page. I'm not sure why but sometimes the lowercase works, and sometimes the upper... Let me know if you have an idea as to how to combat the broken link problem or I can just fix it with the relocated links and put it on a new page this arvo... in my free non-meeting time

I think for the time being, just creating a new place for Stacia's old webquest would be fine enough, especially if you could find more stable links...like Wikipedia links. Those should be around for awhile.

i have a dream... (and i'm not kidding this time) of an online rpg or just a game, where the rules of the game would be explained in [whatever language] but the quests and puzzles and monster battles would be in english (with native language hints). the players would then gain points for correct answers and their characters would get stronger.

That would be an actual game junk. A great idea though!
Maybe if someone collated a rack of 'English' games kinda like the ones you're talking about in one place and the answers to the puzzles formulate a bigger answer (like the jump thru hoops). Inputting gaming and learning...
My kids took to the non-gaming well even and tried really hard. They are a lower-level group of students, but using a different technology made them focused.
