Personally, I think my opinion changes every week. I like the ES brats but they don't have a clue that picking their noses and touching me doesn't mix. And then some weeks like can't stand the boot camp JHS style, where teachers (despite us being adults and graduating from college) are treated the same as the JHS students they are teaching. But, if I had to choose one, I would probably go with the booger-picking brats. And, you?

NO question, elementary! (but only because I disagree with English education in junior high)

ES is good for throwing kids around, you can proper brawl with JHS students. ;D
If I could speak more Japanese (or my ES HRTs could speak more English) I'd say ES. Though at the min, I experience less confusion (and Kancho attacks) at JHS.

I enjoy the conversations with JHS and also the fact that thier attitude to the education is real. Its a challenge to make relationships at JHS and to get through to the students in a way that make them more interested in trying out new things. Challenges are good and makes me feel useful. The textbooks and content sucks, but thats something I can't change. At least they are learning something as opposed to how not freak out completly when they see a foriegner. I don't enjoy being an entertainer for children and hearing the same comments over and over again (wow, you're really tall. No way, I've been teaching you for 2 years and we still can't get past that?). I like that the kids at elementary look forward to seeing me, but I hate the lack of curriculum or purpose of me actually being there. Apples and oranges? Well, I don't like oranges, they are a nice colour and look good for a little while but the citrus can bite after a while... Apples are crisp and fresh, but not always so, making it a hit and miss which keeps me interested in them. Metaphorically speaking...

I switch back and forth too. I guess depends on the week. ES is nice but like regi2 said repetitive comments about height or in my case the size of my nose is kinda annoying. I usually reply in japanese with things like "Wow, your head is surprisingly small" They look confused, I feel vindicated. JHS I like because every so often I feel that the kids actually remember what I teach them, and not just forget everything after i leave.
Also apples over oranges hands down. But if pineapples were brought into the equation then its a whole different story...

I prefer ES generally but requires more energy, but it is more fun
JHS can sometimes be very boring
