Okay, this one is not as hard and not abstract, but you are still going to have to use your heads again. A man is lying face down on the ground. There's a pack on his back. He's dead. There are no tracks leading to or from his body. The weather is fine. How did he die?For you other gifted Children of the 80s out there, give the younger kiddies a chance before replying.

The one I know has the hint 'a ring on his finger'. Is this the same riddle?

I know this one!
No, it's not the same riddle. There is no ring in this riddle.

Sorry, no ring, but put that one up later. I'd like to hear it.

Well I take it natural reasons are not the answer huh, ie. stroke, heart attack, syphilis, etc... I have a vague recollection of hearing this before but I can't remember, I guess I'll have to think about it...

Yeah, natural causes are out. But good thinking. I won't give a clue at this point as it would be overly obvious, but I will consider it nearer the end of the week. Answer on Friday.

I think Junk's original words were 'pack'...not 'backpack'.
Don't smite me, Junk!

yes, that is correct Otaku. i did say pack not backpack, but raindrop's question was 'like a bagpack', to which i replied, she was on the right track. so i am not confirming it's a backpack at all, which you picked up on. wow, could that sentence get any more convoluted?

HEH! He doesn't have a name, but if you were any closer to a solution, you'd be the man on the ground.
TODAY'S THE DAY TO PUT IN YOUR GUESSES. I WILL GIVE THE ANSWER AT AROUND 3PM TODAY.

HAHAHAHAHA! Sorry about that. f(^^; I plumb forgot.
The answer to the riddle 'How did the man die?':
The pack on his back, was a parachute.

Aha! I thought I knew this one. I heard the same riddle only with the hint (ring on his finger). ie, he pulled the ring but the parachute didn't open...
