Also, I have been making original name plates for my students that will sit on their desks everytime there is English class. To prevent the students from losing them, I'm building a point system into the plate. The point system is kinda cool because they aren't random points but rather a category-specific system. I'll post it when I'm finished in case you're interested.

I`d like to hear about your point system, too... for my ES kids, I had them make tags that slip inside their pinned-on name tags, but the 6th graders are less than thrilled about that, having already outgrown putting up with the nametag thing. I usually give out points for their point cards to get them to wear them... but I collect the tags at the end of class. I`d never see the tags again otherwise. Also, it gives me a chance to address each student before class starts -- but with how much time that takes, I`m a little on the fence about it.
I eagerly await hearing about your brilliant nametagging strategies. ; )
