So, last week I taught a Phonics seminar for ES teachers. It was the rough seminar because I was basically speaking Japanese for 3 hours straight. I walked into work today and I was mobbed because eventually I made the newspaper. In case anybody wants to take a read... Gotta love the title: "Sensei, Katakana English...Dame!" I think it's ironic how the article goes on to explain Phonics...using katakana. DOH!!

Great news Otaku! And it seems like they have already asked for part 2. Congratulations! I had to laugh however at the next article explaining phonics. The writer did a wonderful job of explaining phonics via katakana. Kind of defeats the whole purpose.... Sometimes I really wonder if teachers are REALLY listening to what we are saying.
But seriously, it's great that you are helping elementary teachers become aware of phonics and how it can help!
