He was also a fierce social commentator. Some may have not liked him for his 'vulgar language,' but he also makes a point that such language is only so vulgar because of Judeo-christian traditions that have been so long surrounding Western culture. Let go of the assumptions based in religion and the language no longer becomes so bad--slang for body parts, mainly. As of now, there's a stigma attached to the body because it is seen as unclean--not pure--and certain parts seen as more unclean than others (this view, of course, having its religious roots).
It was hearing so much social commentary from an intelligent iconoclast, worked into a humorous routine, that captivated so many of us for so long.
RIP George Carlin T.T

I was watching the news last night and it said George Carlin was the guy who kicked off the FCC to ban the '7 words you can't say on TV'. I didn't know that
Cool! I want to do something like that....maybe, 'the 7 phrases never to be used in English class'. I've already got 4:
1. "Let's..." 2. "Make clear your desks." 3. When talking about giving directions, "Go straight on." 4. Incomplete sentences: "Because she wanted to study English."
