Hi.. can I pick ur brain, please. 1. The boss had me checking all of last month's sales figures. 2. The boss had me check all of last month's sales figures. I guess the one above is the correct one? Isn't 2 correct as well? If so, what's the difference?? thanks.

They are both correct and are the same with one SMALL exception: I would say #1 implies that the boss had you checking all of last month's figures JUST NOW or JUST A MOMENT AGO or NOT TOO LONG AGO. Though this is just my opinion. I would not say there is any real difference that you need to worry about too much. It is something you pick up over time and use.

Yea I agree with Junk, they're both correct but the first seems to suggest its something you JUST finished doing, while the 2nd one could be any time in the past. And people say japanese is a contextual language...
