With more and more talk in the news about increasing the percentage of English used in the English classroom, I have been thinking about simple English phrases that could be used in class. Phrases like: - red pen check (in reference to the students correcting papers)
- change and sit down (in reference to role reading in pairs)
- read 2 times and sit down
- make pairs
- make lunch groups (in references to making 6 groups when doing a group activity)
- sshhh...no talking
Anyone else have any useful English phrases?

I use: - move your desks
- fix your desks
- top secret (when they have to hide their paper or keep their information a secret from their partner)
- pass (your paper) to the front
- bring (your paper) to me
- raise your hand
I use these phrases a lot even in elementary school. At first I used gestures with them but now many of the kids remember them.

I use: - Don't make me break my foot off on your ass.
- Sit the fuck down.
- Shut the fuck up.
- When I want shit from you, I'll pop your head.
- No homework, no problem. Zero.
- FAIL!
and my favorite...
