This is in the New Horizons jr. high text for Unit 6 and practiced "There is a ...." It worked great!! Students were really motivated to look for the survivors and report back to their group. I used some pictures of mountains and trees as well as stuffed animals like lions and monkeys to make the crash scene look more real. I put two survivors (plastic soccer players from Coke bottles) in a plastic container with water in it and labeled it "lake". The students even found the survivor inside the lion puppet.

Quite Creative! I believe the ALT who wrote that activity goes by "matt" here on the forum. BTW, I'm going to link this thread directly to the "Comments/Suggestions" button on Rescue 119's webpage.
