Up to unit 6 in 1 nen-sei
How can I asked to teach 3rd person prnoun verbs when there is a bigger issue on this page!
My school raised the thought of perhaps talking about the issues in the textbook and take what is discussed and give the kids a real life example to work with.
How about the fact that Lisa lives in Canada with her seemingly Japanese husband Koji? We could discuss how Lisa might be percieved in Canada regarding her interracial marriage versus how she would be viewed if she were say, living in rural Japan?
The argument from the teachers is that the English level of the students isn't high enough to disuss this topic...
Love the texbook. Now back to pronoun verbs... Any ideas for it, throw it my way...

Did Lisa do something bad? I think it's cool she's married to Koji. Incidentally, I think the idea that they are teaching kids that international (not interracial) marriage is completely possible, legitmate, and maybe even cool WITHOUT spelling it out to the kids in terms they don't understand yet. Remember, the kids are only 12-15, they don't get profound ideas like international marriage. They are still wondering how to get to the secret level of Mario's Ultima DragonQuest 17.

I think the point Regi is making is homgenous vs. multi-cultural societies.
