Does anyone have old fiction books they don't want? I am looking for old paperback books for a fiction project. I need as many as I can get, and I am not concerned (too much) about condition. As long as the pages are legible, I'm good. I am happy to pay for postage to me (within reason), but I'm sorry,I am not offering money for these books beyond that. And don't offer anything you want back. PM me if you wouldn't mind helping me out.

I`ve got a bunch of stuff up on Bookmooch that I can send you. Just let me know where. I`m trying to get that shelf cleared...
What`s the project?

bookmooch??? what's that? well, i don't want to let too many people in on the project since it's a semi original idea. but i don't think it will get too far here on the boards. I'm going to use the books to create a whole new story by blacking out most of the text but leaving other words intact. i was inspired by an image (that I now cant find) in a book of an illustration of a girl wearing sunglasses. the image is done in marker so it stands out by blacking out the other words. i was thinking of trying something similar to this, but using just the text to create brand new flash fiction stories. i should say, i have NO IDEA if this will work or not, but I would like to give it a try. which is why i need as many old books as I can.

The international center in your local city should also have some old books you could jack...

www.bookmooch.com/Problem being you have to list books to get books. But if you`re looking for new reading material, it`s pretty handy. Living abroad gets you points fast. We used to do that with our English books in high school, though not to the extent you`re doing it. But it gave chapters of _The Hiding Place_ a whole new meaning.

You can`t mooch without books to mooch. You get your first "mooch point" by listing up 10 books -- then you can mooch 1 book, or people can mooch with you and you get more points.
Simple, yes. You get to keep the books you mooch.
Do you care what books I send you, or do you just want whatever? How many? Lots? A few?

Okay, got it. Makes sense.
Um, how many do you have? Also, just curious, what kind of fiction? I'm thinking I might just go with a few at first, so if this experiment fails, I don't have a crapload of books at my house my wife is going to give me grief over? Do you have any pulp books? or mass-market cheapies? (detective stories, spy stories, lurid stories?)

Some crappy sci-fi, some non-crappy sci-fi I just don`t want, some chick lit from my predecessor... I`ll send you 3 or 4, whatever I can fit in an envelope. Sound good? I need to mail a bunch of stuff on Tuesday anyway, so that`s when it`d go out.
