And for my 1001st post here on Englipedia... Because the image editing software on school computers is usually non-existant outside of Paint (WTFudge can you do with Paint?) I decided to look for a few online programs. Being the Information Age, I was able to come up with a nice Google list: Online Image Editing Programs/SitesThe first one worked well and had some nice commonsense features. Recommended.

Congrats on your 1,00oth post!
What kinds of things are you trying to do when you speak of "edit"?

Oh, resizing and changing images to a nice gray scale, cropping and the like. Maybe the functions are there in Paint, but I haven't been able to find them. When cropping, I usually just outline the area I want, copy it, and paste it to a new image, but a real image editor would be nice. Anyway, if there are funcs I have missed in Paint, let me know.

Paint can't resize a picture. I always point people to www.resizeyourimage.com/ for resizing, but I guess whatever site you like best is okay. As far as 'cropping' and 'grey scale', both of those things can be done in Micrsoft Word. If you don't know where to locate those options, I'll point you in the right direction.

i doubt you use linux, but if its a viable option for you, the new ubuntu version of linux, called intrepid, has a really nice image editor that comes with it. obviously you cant just go ahead and install linux on a school computer, but if you happen to have one laying around that you can install linux on for this image editor, i reccomend it. i also have a periodic table program, and a few other little neat programs, that you can get to work in japanese as well. it takes a little bit of work, but its all free.
